Do you know a person, business or community group going above and beyond to make a difference in Stittsville? We want to hear about them! The Stittsville Volunteer Awards are an opportunity to highlight and celebrate the dedication of volunteers in our community.
Note that this year we have a new name for the Youth award, in honour of John Curry. John was always passionate about celebrating the accomplishments of youth in the pages of our community newspapers, and our awards steering committee agreed that this would be a fitting tribute to John.
There will be six categories of awards this year.
- The Roger Griffiths Memorial Citizen of the Year
Awarded to an individual who best exemplifies community involvement and participation. - Senior of the Year
Awarded in recognition of a senior citizen who has made a significant and long-standing contribution to our community. - Business of the Year
Awarded to an active Stittsville business that goes above and beyond to support the community and make it a better place in which to live. - Volunteer Group of the Year
Awarded to a group of citizens who are actively working together to make a difference in the Stittsville community.
- The John Curry Memorial Youth of the Year
Awarded to a young person who exemplifies leadership, inspires their peers and has made a significant contribution to the community through volunteer service.
- Teacher of the Year
Awarded in recognition of an outstanding teacher who makes a difference in the lives of Stittsville Students. A teacher that goes above and beyond to support students and inspires the next generation of leadership in the community.
Nominations must be received by email at the end of day on April 20, 2022, and the awards celebration will take place in early June.

Vous connaissez des personnes, des entreprises ou des groupes communautaires qui ne ménagent aucun effort pour faire bouger les choses à Stittsville? Présentez-nous-les!
Les Prix de reconnaissance des bénévoles de Stittsville visent à souligner le dévouement des bénévoles de notre quartier. Il y a six catégories cette année :
- Prix commémoratif Roger Griffiths pour le résident de l’année
Prix décerné à une personne qui est un parfait modèle d’engagement et de participation communautaire. - Aîné de l’année
Prix décerné à un aîné ayant grandement et depuis longtemps contribué à la collectivité. - Entreprise de l’année
Prix décerné à une dynamique entreprise de Stittsville qui se surpasse pour soutenir la collectivité et faire de notre quartier un lieu où il fait bon vivre. - Groupe de bénévoles de l’année
Prix décerné à un groupe de résidents qui travaillent activement ensemble pour faire bouger les choses à Stittsville. - Prix commémoratif John Curry pour le Jeune de l’annéePrix décerné à un jeune qui est un modèle de leadership, inspire ses pairs et a considérablement contribué à la collectivité par ses services bénévoles.
- Enseignant de l’année
Prix soulignant le travail exceptionnel d’un enseignant ou d’une enseignante qui change pour le mieux la vie d’élèves de Stittsville. Une personne qui se surpasse pour aider les élèves et qui inspire la nouvelle génération de leaders communautaires.
Les candidatures doivent être reçues au plus tard à la fin de la journée le 20 avril 2022. La remise de prix aura lieu au début de juin.
