October 23: After 5 Exchange
The Stittsville Business Association will be hosting their After 5 Exchange at the Goulbourn Museum, 2064 Huntley Road, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Join them outside around the bonfire for a festive take on our monthly networking!  After 5 Exchange is the Stittsville Business Association’s cinq a sept networking event offering a casual yet productive space, fostering camaraderie, idea exchange, and support among SBA members and guests after work hours. October 23: Volunteer Ottawa – The VOscars Volunteer Awards Gala
The VOscars is the highlight of the year for the city’s volunteers and non-profits. The event celebrates Ottawa’s vibrant volunteer community and offers special recognition to individuals, organizations, and businesses that have made a significant difference in the community. Celebrate the helpers with us and enjoy live entertainment, a multi-course meal from Preston Event Centre and of course — the awards ceremony itself!  The 2025 VOscars Awards Gala will start at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, at the Preston Event Centre, 523 St Anthony St, Ottawa.

October 25: West Ridge Drive: Traffic Calming, Bike Lanes, Pedestrian Safety

October 25: Oktoboo Fest
Shop and be eligible to win door prizes at the Johnny Leroux Arena, 10 Warner Colpitts Lane, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Lots of local vendors with a wide variety of specialty items offered by local artisans and crafters. October 25: Fall Supper
The Stittsville United Church will be hosting their 100th Anniversary Fall Supper from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the church, 6255 Fernbank Road. A wide variety of classic comfort foods will be served, including mashed potatoes, turkey, stuffing, gravy, ham and much more! October 30: Haunted Halloween Trivia Night
Holly’s Havens Wildlife Rescue are hosting a Haunted Halloween Trivia Night fundraiser at 7:30 P.M. at Brew Revolution, 6081 Stittsville Main Street. It’s going to be a really fun evening with Spooky Trivia, Costume Contest, Door Prizes as well as local craft beer from Brew Revolution. All proceeds go directly toward caring for injured and orphaned wildlife and helping us meet the growing demand for our services as we work toward our expansion project. October 30: Let’s Talk about Dementia
The Kanata Seniors’ Centre will be hosting a presentation on dementia. The presentation will begin with an introduction to dementia, outlining its scope, impact, and available support. They will examine how dementia can affect individuals or their loved ones. There is a focus on no one facing Dementia alone. What can we do about this disease, and where can we get help? The event starts at 1:00 p.m. at the Kanata Seniors’ Centre, located at 2500 Campeau Drive in Kanata, and costs $2.40 for non-members. September 29, October 27, November 24, and December 15: International Film Series
In collaboration with the Film Circuit of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), the Rotary Club of Ottawa-Stittsville will be showing four films at Landmark Cinemas, Kanata this fall. These films will be screened at 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.. The price of a pass for the four films is $60.00. Please note that these films deal with mature subjects and are not suitable for children. Profits from the International Film Series support a variety of Rotary club projects and donations within our community and around the world. Films are as follows: September 29: Being Cyrano (Dans la peau de Cyrano), October 27: Bob Trevino Likes It, November 24:  Secret Mall Apartment, and December 15: The Penguin Lessons. Mondays in October and November: Free Kathak Classes!
Celebrate 20 years of Aroha Fine Arts by stepping into the vibrant world of Kathak—India’s classical dance of storytelling, rhythm, and grace. Open to all ages, these classes are a perfect way for anyone to discover the joy of movement and rhythm. Classes run at the Cardel Recreation Complex, 1500 Shea Road, on October 20 and 27, and November 3, 10, 17 and 25 from 6:15 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Click here to register.

Every Saturday: Stittsville parkrun
The “Ottawa-Carleton Trailway” parkrun starts on the Trans Canada Trail by the dog park pathway entrance near Shea and Granite Ridge, and will run along Robert Grant to Bobolink and back. There are no road crossings on the route. This is a 5km run suitable for all ability levels. The event runs every Saturday at 9:00 a.m.. For further information, please visit parkrun Canada.

Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday: St. Thomas Clothing Drop-Off
St. Thomas Anglican Church, located at 1619 Stittsville Main, accepts gently used clothing every Tuesday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.. Please do not leave clothing after these hours. They accept clothing with no holes, rips, or pet hair. They will take all sizes, shoes, boots and outerwear. If you would like to volunteer with set-up, sorting or takedown, please call 613-836-5741. Their Next to New Clothing store is only open to recipients of the Stittsville Food Bank.

Every Monday: Cribbage
The Stittsville Friendship Club will be hosting their afternoon cribbage games from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Stittsville Legion (Lower Hall) located at 1481 Stittsville Main Street. November 1:  Stittsville Pumpkin Parade
Bring your Jack O’Lanterns to the Stittsville Pumpkin Parade being held at the Village Square Park at 6:30 P.M. Fun for the whole family with hundreds of lit pumpkins and prizes for the best pumpkin! Donations to the Food Bank would be most welcome! For further information, please visit, here

November 3-7: Food Drive
The 1st Stittsville Scouting and Stittsville Guiding are gearing up for our Fall Food Drive in support of the Stittsville Food Bank. During the week, youth will be going door-to-door to collect food donations or will be leaving shopping bags with instructions for pickup on Saturday, November 8. Last spring Scouting and Guiding combined to bring in 415 full milk crates of food donations and $2661 in cash donations!! We are hoping that our efforts this year can continue to provide this kind of support to the Stittsville Food Bank. For further information, please contact, commissioner@stittsvillescouts.org

November 5: Fall Public Workshop on Complete Communities
Ecology Ottawa and Walkable Ottawa are hosting a community workshop to explore how neighbourhoods can provide more of what people need close to home—shops, services, and public amenities within a short walk. Discussions will include 15-minute neighbourhoods, complete communities, and how we can advocate for a greater mix of shopping options and public amenities. We’d love to hear your ideas. Join us from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Carleton University, located at 1125 Colonel By Drive. The evening will open with a short presentation, followed by interactive breakout sessions. November 8/9: Kanata Art Club Art Sale
The Kanata Art Club 2025 will host its $200 and Under Art Sale, featuring beautiful, unique, and affordable gifts, including original artwork by KAC members. This sale is being held at the March Central Community Center, 630 Cameron Harvey Drive in Kanata. November 11: Remembrance Day Service
Remembrance Day Service is hosted by the Stittsville Legion at the cenotaph in Alexander Grove Park/ Johnny LeRoux Arena, 10 Warner Colpitts Lane. The service begins at 2:00 p.m..

November 15: Annual Bazaar
The Holy Spirit Women’s League will host its Annual Bazaar from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, 1489 Shea Road. Items will include crafts, homemade baking, religious articles as well as a white elephant table and more!  Stop by the tea room and enjoy a luncheon plate with homemade desserts and coffee. November 25-December 10: Zonta 16 Days of Activism
Every year during the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, Zonta International promotes the “Zonta Says NO to Violence against Women” campaign. The 16 Days of Activism calls for the elimination of all forms of violence against women by raising community awareness of this serious and long-standing issue. This year, the Zonta Club of Kanata Stittsville will be contributing to the campaign by placing 16 “Orange Ladies” in strategic locations around Stittsville and Kanata for each of the 16 days. An Orange Lady is a four-foot, orange-painted plywood cutout with information about violence against women posted on the lady. Look for it in and around our community during these days. Watch as 40 talented youth, ages 8–18, bring Elf the Musical JR to life on stage. November 28 & 29: West Ottawa Ladies Chorus
Come enjoy “A Season of Light and Love” presented by the West Ottawa Ladies Chorus, a community chorus of about 40 women, singing four-part harmony under the direction of Allison Houston, accompanied by Peter Brown.
