The City is conducting public consultation on a proposal to name a section of the Poole Creek Walkway to the west of Main Street, past the Community Centre, and ending at Johnathon Pack Street, located within Alexander Grove Park, 10 Warner Colpitts Lane, “Betty Hill Walkway”.
In recognition of demonstrated excellence, the City has been asked to name a section of the Poole Creek Walkway located within Alexander Grove Park, located at 10 Warner Colpitts Lane,“Betty Hill Walkway”. Former Mayor Betty Hill served the Stittsville and Goulbourn community for nearly 20 years. She served as Reeve of Richmond, Ontario, and Mayor of Goulbourn Township. Ms. Hill was instrumental in many community initiatives, including bringing municipal water and sewer to Stittsville, a business and industrial park in Goulbourn, and the development of the original Poole Creek pathway.

La Ville mène une consultation publique sur une proposition visant à nommer un tronçon du sentier du ruisseau Poole situé à l’ouest de la rue Main, entre le centre communautaire et la rue Jonathan-Pack, dans le parc Alexander-Grove, au 10, ruelle Warner-Colpitts, « Sentier Betty-Hill ».
Une proposition a été déposée auprès de la Ville afin de nommer un tronçon du sentier du ruisseau Poole situé dans le parc Alexander-Grove, au 10, ruelle Warner-Colpitts, « Sentier Betty-Hill » en reconnaissance d’excellence manifeste. L’ancienne mairesse Betty Hill a servi les communautés de Stittsville et de Goulbourn pendant près de 20 ans. Elle a été préfète de Richmond (Ontario) et mairesse du canton de Goulbourn. Mme Hill a joué un rôle déterminant dans de nombreuses initiatives communautaires, notamment les infrastructures municipales d’eau et d’égout, à Stittsville, la création d’un parc d’affaires et industriel à Goulbourn et l’aménagement du sentier original du ruisseau Poole.
