La version française suit

Since December, we’ve been asking for your feedback about how to improve transit service to the Fernbank area. Your feedback included wanting routes closer to homes, and more direct service to downtown.

In response, new OC Transpo service changes to Route 167—now Route 67—will make taking transit more convenient and direct for residents in the growing neighbourhoods of Abbottsville Crossing, Bradley Commons, Blackstone, Fernbank Crossing, and Westwood. The improved service begins on April 24, 2022.

NEW Route 67

Route 167 will be renumbered as NEW Route 67. The new route will be realigned between Cope and Westphalian to operate along Rouncey Road (instead of Terry Fox Drive) through the Blackstone neighbourhood. In the morning and afternoon peak periods, Route 67 will bypass Terry Fox Station and extend all the way to Tunney’s Pasture Station.

Route 252 will be shortened to start at Templeford and Cope in the morning and end at Cope and Northgraves in the afternoon. Route 67 will provide Abbottsville residents with a connection to Line 1 at Tunney’s Pasture Station. Route 67 will provide a faster and more direct route to the Tunney’s Pasture LRT station than Route 252.

See images below for route maps or visit OC Transpo to plan your trip.

The City is conducting public consultation on proposals to commemoratively rename parks across the City. In Stittsville, there are three parks considered for commemorative naming: Bradley Commons Park (to Bradley-Craig Park), Atlas Park (to Bob Mills Park), and the unnamed new trailhead on Stittsville Main Street (to Bradley Square).

If you would like to submit written comments regarding these proposals or obtain further information, please contact the commemorative naming team at namingottawa@ottawa.ca and copy Glen Gower at glen.gower@ottawa.ca. Comments must be made in writing and received no later than Friday, August 27.

To find more information about commemorative naming in Ottawa, as well as the details for each proposal across the City, click here.

Bradley-Craig Park (currently Bradley Commons Park, 331 Cranesbill Road)

In recognition of the historical significance of the Bradley-Craig family, the City has been asked to name the Bradley Commons Park, located at 331 Cranesbill Road, Bradley-Craig Park. The family operated the farm in Stittsville for more than 180 years and their farmstead was an agricultural model for dairy farmers throughout the region. The farmland was fertile, well-watered and largely stone-free. The heritage designated, large, red barn and brick farmhouse, known as the Bradley-Craig farm, still stands and can be seen off Hazeldean Road.

Bob Mills Park (currently Atlas Park, 875 Atlas Terrace)

In recognition of extensive community service, the City has been asked to name Atlas Park, located at 875 Atlas Terrace, Bob Mills Park. Bob Mills worked for 25 years as the Director of Parks and Recreation for Goulbourn Township. He developed numerous parks, ball fields and hockey arenas during this time, enhancing recreation in the Stittsville community.

Bradley Square (Trailhead on Stittsville Main Street, currently unnamed)

In recognition of extensive community service, the City has been asked to name the new Stittsville Main Street sitting area, located across from Village Square Park at 6000 Abbott Street East, Bradley Square. Ross Bradley and the Bradley Family have been long-time residents and business leaders in the Stittsville community. Ross is a philanthropist that has donated time and money to many local organizations, charities, community groups and minor sports teams.

le parc de Bradley Commons, situé au 331, chemin Cranesbill, « parc Bradley-Craig »;

le parc Atlas, situé au 875, terrasse Atlas, « parc Bob-Mills »;

la nouvelle aire de repos de la rue Main à Stittsville, située en face du parc Village Square, au 6000, rue Abbott Est, « place Bradley »;

Parc Bradley-Craig (quartier 6 – Stittsville)

Parc Bob-Mills (quartier 6 – Stittsville)

Place Bradley (quartier 6 – Stittsville)
