<p><span dir="ltr" lang="EN-CA">Eligible electors in the 2026 Municipal Elections can choose to vote by special mail-in ballot, by proxy, or in person. </span></p>

<p><span dir="ltr" lang="EN-CA">The application is also available in hardcopy at the Elections Office and all Client Service Centres. </span></p>
<p><span dir="ltr" lang="EN-CA">Special ballot voter kits will be mailed the week of September 21. </span>Completed special mail-in ballots must be received at the Elections Office or any Client Service Centre by <strong>8 pm on October 16 to be counted</strong>. Any special mail-in ballots received after this deadline will not be counted.</p>
<h4><span dir="ltr" lang="EN-CA">Voting by proxy</span><span dir="ltr" lang="EN-CA"> </span></h4>
<p><span dir="ltr" lang="EN-CA">From </span>September 1 to October 26 at 4:30 pm<span dir="ltr" lang="EN-CA">, eligible electors can </span><a href="https://ottawa.ca/en/city-hall/elections/voters/voting-opportunities/vote-proxy"><span dir="ltr" lang="EN-CA">appoint a proxy to vote on their behalf</span></a><span dir="ltr" lang="EN-CA">. A proxy must be an eligible elector in the City of Ottawa and can still cast their own ballot. </span></p>
<p><span dir="ltr" lang="EN-CA">To appoint a proxy, the elector and the person they want to appoint must fill out two copies of the </span><a class="ext" title="(opens in a new window)" href="https://app06.ottawa.ca/online_services/forms/elections/appointment_voting_proxy_by_election_2026_en.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" data-extlink="" data-once="open-new-tab file-icons-pdf"><span dir="ltr" lang="EN-CA">&#8216;Appointment for Voting Proxy &#8211; Form 3&#8217;</span><i class="fa-ext extlink" aria-label="(link is external)" aria-hidden="false"></i></a><span dir="ltr" lang="EN-CA">. The proxy must take the two completed forms to the </span><a href="https://ottawa.ca/en/city-hall/elections/contact-elections-office/elections-office-contact-information"><span dir="ltr" lang="EN-CA">Elections Office</span></a> <span dir="ltr" lang="EN-CA"> or any </span><a href="https://ottawa.ca/en/client-services/city-ottawa-client-service-centres"><span dir="ltr" lang="EN-CA">Client Service Centre</span></a> <span dir="ltr" lang="EN-CA">during regular business hours to have them certified by City staff from </span>September 1 to October 26 at 4:30 pm<span dir="ltr" lang="EN-CA">. </span></p>
<p><span dir="ltr" lang="EN-CA">The form is also available in hardcopy at the Elections Office or any Client Service Centre.</span></p>
<h4>Vote in person</h4>
<p><span dir="ltr" lang="EN-CA">In-person voting in the 2026 Municipal Elections will begin on October 1 with an “anywhere voting” model, allowing electors to cast their ballot from 10 am to 8 pm at any of the voting places listed below regardless of their qualifying address.</span></p>

<p>During Advance Voting Day and Voting Day, electors must vote at their assigned voting place. Voting places will be open from 10 am to 8 pm, with the exception of voting places in long-term care facilities or institutions that may have reduced hours.</p>

<p><span dir="ltr" lang="FR-CA">Entre le 1<sup>er</sup> septembre et le 26 octobre à 16 h 30, les électrices et électeurs admissibles peuvent </span><a href="https://ottawa.ca/fr/hotel-de-ville/elections/electeurs/possibilites-de-vote/vote-par-procuration" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span dir="ltr" lang="FR-CA"><u>désigner un mandataire pour voter en leur nom</u></span></a><span dir="ltr" lang="FR-CA">. Le mandataire doit être une électrice ou un électeur admissible dans la Ville d’Ottawa; sa fonction de mandataire ne l’empêche pas de déposer un bulletin de vote en son propre nom.  </span></p>
<p><span dir="ltr" lang="FR-CA">Pour nommer un mandataire, l’électrice ou l’électeur et la personne qu’elle ou il souhaite nommer mandataire doivent remplir deux copies du </span><a class="ext" title="(opens in a new window)" href="https://app06.ottawa.ca/online_services/forms/elections/appointment_voting_proxy_by_election_2026_fr.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" data-extlink="" data-once="open-new-tab file-icons-pdf"><span dir="ltr" lang="FR-CA"><u>formulaire 3 – Nomination d’un mandataire</u></span><i class="fa-ext extlink" aria-label="(lien externe)" aria-hidden="false"></i></a><span dir="ltr" lang="FR-CA">. Le mandataire devra remettre les deux formulaires dûment remplis au Bureau des élections ou dans un centre du service à la clientèle pendant les heures normales d’ouverture afin de les faire certifier par le personnel de la Ville entre le 1<sup>er</sup> septembre et le 26 octobre à 16 h 30. </span></p>

<p>The City of Ottawa’s Elections Office is hiring election workers to fill a variety of paid positions in the 2022 Municipal Elections. Individuals are needed on:</p>

</ul>
<p>The Elections Office is looking for individuals who are at least 16 years old, understand the voting process, learn quickly, and possess good interpersonal skills. Priority will be given to applicants who are bilingual in French and English. Proficiency in other languages will be considered an asset and applicants are encouraged to indicate which language(s) they speak on their application form.</p>

<h2>Le Bureau des élections de la Ville d’Ottawa embauche du personnel électoral afin d’aider les électeurs à laisser leur marque</h2>
<p><strong> </strong> Le Bureau des élections de la Ville d’Ottawa embauche du personnel électoral afin de pourvoir différents postes rémunérés pour les élections municipales de 2022. Ces personnes devront être présentes aux dates suivantes :</p>
<ul>
<li>Premier jour de vote par anticipation le vendredi 7 octobre 2022;</li>
<li>Deuxième jour de vote par anticipation le vendredi 14 octobre 2022; et</li>
<li>Jour du scrutin le lundi 24 octobre 2022.</li>
</ul>
<p>Le Bureau des élections recherche des personnes âgées d’au moins 16 ans, qui comprennent le processus du vote, apprennent rapidement et possèdent de bonnes aptitudes interpersonnelles. La priorité sera accordée aux candidats bilingues, en français et en anglais. La maîtrise d’autres langues sera considérée comme un atout. Nous encourageons donc les candidats à indiquer les langues qu’ils parlent sur leur formulaire de demande.</p>
