The name of the Goulbourn Recreation Complex at 1500 Shea Road has officially changed to CARDELREC Recreation Complex – Goulbourn, thanks to a sponsorship agreement between the City of Ottawa and Cardel Homes Ottawa.

Mayor Jim Watson, Stittsville Councillor Glen Gower and Greg Graham, President of Cardel Homes Ottawa, officially unveiled the new name today.

The sponsorship agreement is part of the City’s ongoing Community Champions Program, which provides sponsors with year-round recognition for their contribution to improving the lives of Ottawa residents where they live, work and play.

Cardel Homes Ottawa will pay $40,000 annually for 15 years, for a total of $600,000.

To commemorate the new partnership, the community is invited to a free public skate at CARDELREC Recreation Complex – Goulbourn on Saturday, March 9 from 1 to 4 pm. This event is sponsored by Cardel Homes Ottawa. Bring a donation for the food bank!

Facts:

• CARDELREC features hockey arenas, a swimming pool, gymnasiums, programming spaces and meeting rooms.
• Cardel Homes Ottawa’s $40,000 contribution earns them a place in the Builder category of the City’s   Community Champion program.
• Other Community Champion partners have included: Meridian Credit Union, IceNet Wireless, Richcraft, RBC, Coca-Cola, Minto, Myers, and Swim Ottawa.
• To date, revenue generated through the Community Champions program totals $1,638,100 since 2012.

Le Complexe récréatif Goulbourn, au 1500, chemin Shea, s’appellera désormais officiellement le Complexe récréatif CARDELREC – Goulbourn, dans le cadre d’un accord de commandite intervenu entre la Ville d’Ottawa et Cardel Homes Ottawa.

Jim Watson, maire d’Ottawa, Glen Gower, conseiller du quartier Stittsville, et Greg Graham, président de Cardel Homes Ottawa, ont officiellement dévoilé aujourd’hui la nouvelle appellation du complexe.

Cet accord de commandite s’inscrit dans le cadre du programme permanent Champions communautaires de la Ville, qui vient souligner toute l’année l’apport des commanditaires à l’amélioration de la qualité de vie des résidents d’Ottawa là où ils habitent, travaillent et se divertissent.

Cardel Homes Ottawa versera chaque année 40 000 $ pendant 15 ans, soit un total de 600 000 $.

Pour souligner ce nouveau partenariat, les résidents sont invités à une séance gratuite de patinage public au Complexe récréatif CARDELREC – Goulbourn le samedi 9 mars 2019 de 13 h à 16 h. Cet événement est commandité par Cardel Homes Ottawa. Apportez un don pour la banque d’alimentation de Stittsville.
