March 30-April 4: Canadian Ringette Championships
Ottawa will once again welcome the country’s top ringette athletes as the Canadian Ringette Championships return to the nation’s capital for a second consecutive year. This time, the event has gone west with games hosted in the Bell Sensplex and Tony Graham Recreation Complex. We are fortunate this year to have six local teams competing for top prize at their respective divisions: The Championships are also pleased to host a Free Come Try Ringette event for ages 4 to 15 on [Good] Friday, April 3 at 10:30 a.m. at the Bell Sensplex! April 4: Celebrating Stittsville’s Gold Medal Paralympian Collinda Joseph
Join us on Saturday, April 4 at CARDELREC–Goulbourn (1500 Shea Road) from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to celebrate Stittsville’s own Collinda Joseph and her gold medal performance in wheelchair curling at the 2026 Paralympic Winter Games. Come meet Collinda, get an autograph, and take a selfie! All ages are welcome! More info…

April 4: Spring into Savings FUNdraiser Market
The Stittsville Community Crafters, Producers and Vendor Markets present their “Spring into Savings” FUNdraiser Market in support of local vendors and local charities. The event will feature more than 30 vendors, live music, and customer door prizes. Stop by, make a purchase, and enter the special $1,000 annual prize draw for one lucky customer. You’ll find great creations and beautiful items from A to Z. Families are welcome, and children can enjoy a photo opportunity with the Easter Bunny. The market takes place on Saturday, April 4 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Johnny Leroux Arena. Proceeds support the Stittsville Home Bosses Youth Centre (Kiwanis).

April 15: Lionhearts Open House
Lionhearts will be hosting an Open House at their location, 119 Iber Road from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to give you a behind-the-scenes look at how Lionhearts operates. You’ll see everything from their kitchen—which supports the nightly bread pickups—to the warehouse, which houses essential items for their wonderful partners. This is also a great opportunity to meet other Lionhearts partners, volunteers, and staff members. It truly takes all of them coming together to make a difference, and they’d love for you to connect with others who share the same compassion and dedication to serving our communities. April 15: Friendship Club Sugar Bush Visit
The Stittsville Friendship Club is hosting a trip to Temple’s Sugar Bush, 1700 Ferguson Falls Road, near Perth Ontario. The tour leaves Johnny Leroux Arena, 10 Warner Colpitts Lane at 10:10 a.m. and will return by 2:00 p.m. in the afternoon. April 18: Lies, Rumours, and Other Tales. Why let the truth get in the way
Allan McCarville, a local author and member of the Goulbourn Township Historical Society, will be giving a presentation on local history entitled: Stories of Goulbourn: Lies, Rumours, and Other Tales. Why Let the Truth Get in the Way of a Good Tale? From the depths of the prehistoric Champlain Sea to the bright lights of Hollywood, the history of Goulbourn Township is full of surprises. April 22: Friends of Stittsville Wetlands Annual Community Forum 
On Earth Day, the Friends of Stittsville Wetlands will host their second annual community forum—an inspiring gathering designed to deepen public understanding of the ecological significance of the Goulbourn Wetland Complex and the vital role residents play in protecting it for wildlife, the community, and future generations. This year’s forum will shine a spotlight on turtles, among the most at-risk species in Ontario, exploring the threats they face and the practical steps we can take to safeguard their habitat. Featuring expert speakers from the Canadian Wildlife Federation and the Friends of Carp Hills, the event will offer both in‑person and virtual participation, with a recorded session available afterward. By bringing together local residents, conservation leaders, and engaged community members, the forum aims to build momentum for a Stittsville‑based turtle conservation program and inspire collective action to help protect and restore these remarkable species and the wetlands they depend on.

April 24 & 25: West Ottawa Ladies Chorus
The West Ottawa Ladies Chorus will be presenting “Music From the Movies” on April 24 at 7:00 p.m. and on April 25 at 3:00 p.m. at the Bells Corners United Church, 3955 Old Richmond Road in Nepean. Tickets are available from Chorus members or through their website, www.westottawaladieschorus.ca

Enjoy an afternoon of euchre with fun, fellowship and refreshments sponsored by the United Church Women, held each Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Lower Hall at Stittsville United Church. 6255 Fernbank Road. The Rotary Club of Ottawa-Stittsville will be presenting their Winter Film Series throughout the next few months. Series Pass costs $60.00 with all 4 films being screened at Landmark Cinemas, 801 Kanata Avenue. Every Saturday: Ottawa-Carleton Trailway parkrun (depending on the weather & trail conditions)
The Ottawa-Carleton Trailway parkrun starts on the Trans Canada Trail by the dog park pathway entrance near Shea and Granite Ridge, and will run along Robert Grant to Bobolink and back. There are no road crossings on the route. This is a 5km run suitable for all ability levels. The event runs every Saturday at 9:00 a.m. For further information, please visit parkrun Canada.

Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday: St. Thomas Clothing Drop-Off
St. Thomas Anglican Church, located at 1619 Stittsville Main, accepts gently used clothing every Tuesday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.. Please do not leave clothing after these hours. They accept clothing with no holes, rips, or pet hair. They will take all sizes, shoes, boots and outerwear. If you would like to volunteer with set-up, sorting or takedown, please call 613-836-5741. Their Next to New Clothing store is only open to recipients of the Stittsville Food Bank.

Mondays until June 8: Creative Writing Program for Teens
This program is hosted by the Stittsville Creative Writing Group and led by an adult group member. Participants, ages 13-17, meet on the second Monday of the month for a series of lectures, activities, and writing exercises.  It’s an extension of the existing adult writing group with the goal of fostering creativity and literacy in the next generation, and inspiring future writers. May 2: Ottawa Carleton Trailway parkrun celebrates its second anniversary
The Stittsville parkrun is gearing up to celebrate its second anniversary on May 2, 2026, marking two years of bringing people together every Saturday for a free, volunteer‑run 5 km walk or run on the Trans Canada Trail. Each week, 60–85 participants—ranging from age 6 to 95—come out to get active, connect, and build friendships that keep them returning week after week. High‑school students play a big role on the volunteer team, often coming back regularly to support the event and earn their community hours. With water, popsicles, and a welcoming post‑run atmosphere, the refreshment table has become a natural gathering spot where people mingle and get to know one another. Parkrun has quickly become a vibrant community hub, uniting residents and visitors from across Stittsville, Canada, and around the world in a simple shared goal: getting outside and enjoying time together.

May 6-9: Kanata United Church Book Fair
The Kanata United Church, 33 Leacock Drive, Kanata will be hosting a book fair to raise funds that to partially return back into the community, as well as worthwhile organizations such as the Kanata Food Cupboard, Matthew House and many others. All books are donated with dedicated volunteers who sort through all donations. Donations of books will be accepted between April 6 and April 25 at their location. The Kids Only shopping experience has returned this year on May 6 from 2;00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. providing the children to browse and purchase books while parents and adults wait in the sanctuary. May 8: Kids for Kids Talent Festival
The Kanata Stittsville Kiwanis Club are once again hosting their Kids for Kids (K4K) K4K Talent Festival. This is an opportunity for local Children and Youth to showcase their talent and in doing so raise funds. The participants can build their confidence, make new friends and claim community service hours. Funds raised are used to support children and youth in need and at risk both directly and through other local Outreach Programs. The deadline for video auditions is April 10 for the May 8 show date. May 16: Stittsville Pathfinder Girl Guides and Venture Scouts – Poole Creek Invasive Species Clean Up and Health Monitoring
This spring, youth and leaders from the Stittsville Pathfinder Girl Guides and Venture Scouts will unite for a hands‑on environmental stewardship day at the Poole Creek Wetland, working together to protect one of the community’s most treasured natural spaces. Guided by expert naturalists from the Ottawa Stewardship Council and the Friends of the Stittsville Wetlands, participants will learn to identify and remove invasive plant species while gaining practical insight into wetland ecology and conservation. Youth will also collect biodiversity data using the iNaturalist platform, contributing meaningful citizen‑science information to help monitor the health of the ecosystem. This immersive experience not only improves habitat quality and supports long‑term ecological resilience but also cultivates environmental leadership, scientific literacy, and a deeper sense of civic responsibility among the next generation of Stittsville community stewards.

May 20: Kanata Senior’s Council AGM
The Kanata Seniors Council, will be celebrating 30 years of “seniors helping seniors” and will be holding its Annual General Meeting at the Kanata Seniors Center, 2500 Campeau Dr, Kanata, starting at 10:00 am. All are welcome to attend, but only members of the Council are entitled to vote. A light lunch will be served after the meeting. Also be on the lookout for Far West Fun Fest 2026, 2 weeks of activities for seniors focusing on fun, friendship and food. The event takes place from June 4 to June 18, 2026. May 30: Jack’s Gala; Reaching for the Stars
Anna and Richard Laidlaw from Stittsville are parents to three young boys—Jack (8), Scott (6), and Tom (4). They are reaching out in hopes that you will consider supporting their family’s annual fundraising event, Jack’s Gala: Reaching for the Stars, which will take place on May 30th, 2026, at the award-winning Brookstreet Hotel, where they hope to host 400 guests. They are currently seeking sponsors, donations to the live and silent auctions, and for guests to join them for this event, to help the family reach a cure for our son. The event will include live music, guest speakers (including astronaut Dr. Dave Williams!), photobooths, a balloon pop, both live and silent auctions and more! June 7: Douglas Sutherland’s Stittsville Art in the Park
Village Square Park will come alive on June 7, for Douglas Sutherland’s Stittsville Art in the Park—an energetic, free, one‑day festival that unites our community in a vibrant celebration of creativity. This beloved annual event showcases an eclectic mix of local talent, from emerging young artists to seasoned creators, featuring stunning artwork, photography, handmade crafts, authors, artisans, delicious food trucks, and live youth entertainment. With family‑friendly and pet‑friendly activities, including a growing kids’ talent showcase, colourful street chalk art, expanded space along Abbott Street for artists and picnic seating, and a relaxed outdoor atmosphere, the festival draws record crowds each year. Stittsville District Lions Club Community BBQ is a fun, family‑friendly gathering open to everyone! Enjoy delicious barbecue while the kids take part in games and activities designed just for them. July 18: Cricket Festival at Bradley Craig Park
The Stittsville Cricket Club is excited to invite the community to a vibrant Cricket Festival at Bradley Craig Park, bringing neighbours together for a fun, welcoming day celebrating the sport of cricket. This family‑friendly event aims to strengthen community connections while introducing residents of all ages to one of the world’s most popular sports through demonstrations, hands‑on activities, and opportunities to learn and play.
