With the warm weather finally here, we are getting lots of inquiries about progress on future parks and park renewals in Stittsville. Here’s the latest information that we have as of May 2026. We’ll continue to post updates on this page as the projects progress.

New parks
Fernbank District Park (Abbott/Lift/Clintonia/Rouncey)
We are anticipating public consultation for this park to begin in the coming months.
Brummell-Curry Park (Cope at Finsbury in Westwood)
Previously referred to as Cope Park. Construction is anticipated to start this month and completed by the end of 2026.
Crossway Park (Crossway Terrace in Connections)
Construction is expected to start in late May and substantially completed by the end of July. Some new grass/sod areas may be fenced off until the lawn gets established.
Dagenham Park (Dagenham at David Wiens in Westwood)
Previously referred to as David Wiens Park. Construction is expected to start this month with completion by the end of 2026.
Granary Grove Park (Granary and Craig Duncan in Shea Village)
Work is expected to start this month and be completed by the end of July 2026.
Idylea Linear Park (west side of the Idylea neighbourhood)
This is a north-south pathway link that connects Fernbank Road to Kemp Woodlands, with homes on Caribou and Liard backing onto it as well. Construction began in December 2025.
Shea Woods – future off-leash dog park
In 2022, City Council approved an agreement to acquire and protect approximately five hectares of Shea Woods, and protect the forest as a part of a public park. That acquisition is now complete, and the land is owned by the City of Ottawa. In the next year or so, the City will be undertaking engagement to finalize the park plans.
Park upgrades
Bradley-Craig Park – Cricket pitch (Cranesbill)
Final design is underway, and installation is expected later in 2026.
Ralph Street Park – Swing replacement (Ralphpark Street)
Work is expected to be completed by the end of July 2026.
Stitt Street Park – play structure replacement (Stitt Street)
Public consultation for this project took place in January 2026. A refined concept is being prepared and will be shared on Engage Ottawa with implementation updates. Construction may begin late this year, with completion in 2027.
