Forestry Services’ fall caliper tree planting program is scheduled to begin on Thursday, October 1, and will run until mid-November, weather permitting. This includes 160 new trees to be planted in parks, at City facilities, and along streets through Forestry Services’ lifecycle tree planting programs as well as some projects for the Schoolyard Tree Planting Grant Program.

Park locations include Bradley-Craig Park, Mark Yakabuski Park, William Bradley Park, Rouncey Park, Pioneer Plains Park, and the Poole Creek Pathway near Beverly Street.

Where a tree planting is scheduled on City property adjacent to a residence, individual notifications will be provided to the resident in advance of planting. Typically, a few weeks prior to planting, residents should expect to see utility locate flags and paint on the ground. These should not be removed or grass mowed until planting has been completed. (Please note that the list of locations does not include trees planted by other City Services, through developments projects, or by applicants as a condition of tree removal permits.)

Planting takes place City wide following an optimized routing regularly adjusted based on current site conditions, weather, and other daily logistical considerations.
