Good morning! Today I’m at the stormwater pond between Boulonnais Grove and Paseana Place, and Terry Fox Drive (stormwater facility #1353). Stormwater ponds play a major role in flood control during major rain storms like the one we saw on July 1. This pond provides overflow capacity for the surrounding neighbourhood, and outlets via the Monaghan Drain to the Jock River and eventually the Rideau River.
This week’s updates:
- Recovering from the July 1 storm – if you had flooding, make a report via ottawa.ca/311/ plus more storm resources available at ottawa.ca
- Canada Day thank you
- Transportation & Mobility Action Plan
- Committee approves renovictions by-law
- Committee votes “no” to Stittsville West urban expansion
- 5100 Robert Grant Avenue – Village Green update
- Development updates: Hazeldean @ Savage update; new development proposed for Palladium @ Derreen
- Stittsville Main flower basket program
- Paul Lindsay Park stormwater maintenance
- Bus stop construction on Abbott @ Robert Grant
- Upcoming events: Cricket festival, West Side Pride, weekly parkrun, weekly Market @ the barn
- Ottawa Charge are moving to Stittsville

Have a great week!
